The Moredun Foundation has been a pillar of support in the livestock farming community for over a century, consistently demonstrating its commitment to animal health and welfare. The Moredun Foundation describe themselves as

From its founding by Scottish farmers in 1920 to its role as a world-renowned research hub today, Moredun has maintained a clear mission—working hand-in-hand with farmers and vets to improve the prevention, understanding, and treatment of infectious diseases in livestock.
When it comes to managing the
financial side of their work,
The Moredun Foundation turned
to Forecast 5 after the withdrawal of support for Sage WinForecast.
Colin B., Group Finance Director at The Moredun Foundation, explains,
"We needed an easy-to-understand integrated software package to prepare our budgets following the withdrawal of support for the Sage Forecasting software. We reviewed several packages but quickly came to the conclusion that Forecast 5 did what we needed it to do, and more, and also had the look and feel of the package we had been used to.”

“It has an excellent reporting function and provides integrated outputs across the main financial statements,” Colin adds. “It has less room for error than simply using spreadsheets on a standalone basis.”
One of the unique needs of The Moredun Foundation was handling Gift Aid distributions from their commercial subsidiaries. Forecast 5 met this challenge with ease. As Colin notes,
“A further plus point was that we needed a bespoke addition to deal with Gift Aid distributions from our commercial subsidiaries – this was accommodated and works extremely well.”
By adopting Forecast 5, Moredun found the flexibility they needed to continue producing high-quality budget reports.
“We were able to replace our existing software and continue to produce high-quality budget reports for our boards,” Colin states.
