Forecast 5 at Accountex 2023!

Accountex is full on – but lots of fun, and now it’s over for another year!

As in the past, Accountex 2023 took place in the huge Excel Centre in London’s Docklands, which for those who haven’t visited, is a kilometre long, occupies the area fully between two stations on the Docklands Light Railway and now the new Elizabeth Line, as well.

So, it’s a large Centre, but to accommodate its 200 exhibitors and roughly 9,000 visiting accountants, Accountex occupied (only) one of the nine conference halls within the Centre, tiny compared to the largest conference ever held there for 93,000 World Travel Market professionals and 7,500 exhibitors in 2018.

For those interested in the history of the site, the Centre’s website provides some interesting snippets.

This is the fifth time the Forecast 5 team has exhibited at Accountex, and as normal, we demonstrated our software, non-stop from the moment the doors opened until the security people told us “Time to go home, folks”.

This year, our normal team of Developer Geof Nightingale, plus Johnny & Juliet Kipps was augmented by our colleague, Andy Wall, who has used Forecast 5 both in his role as a company Finance Director and latterly, as a consultant.

Andy is our Sage king, having cut his teeth with Sage 50 and is very well versed in Sage 200, as well.

Geof, who travelled out from Auckland, New Zealand for Accountex and to visit clients of Forecast 5, enjoyed himself as much as anybody.

And is rightly proud of the fantastic budgeting and forecasting tool he has developed.

In 2012, Johnny & Juliet worked at the Olympic Games as “Ambassadors” in the same Excel Centre where we got to know it well.

Traversing the length and breadth of all nine conference halls many times whilst working – but also, enjoying the perks of the job. Managing to get front row seats for many different sports, including the Judo finals, where not fifty yards away was one Vladmir Putin being hosted by David Cameron and Foreign Secretary William Hague; how times have changed!

Accountex is a very different experience – talking and demonstrating at our stand to a wide variety of interested visitors, all looking for solutions to their accounting problems – and at our stand, keen to learn how Forecast 5 can make their budgeting life simpler.

Happily, it’s easy to talk about Forecast 5 because it provides the answers to the questions; we supply cashflow forecasting and even 90 day rolling cashflow forecasting if that’s what’s needed.
