How to check if your SQL Server is correctly configured

How to check if your SQL Server is correctly configured:

 

Search for and open SQL Server Configuration Manager*

 

*if nothing is showing up then it's likely SQL Server hasn't been installed, You can download SQL: Here

 

Once in SQL Server Configuration ensure that your SQL Server is running.

If it is not running then right click on the SQL Server name and select Start.

 

Once you have confirmed that the SQL Server you wish to use for Forecast 5 is running expand SQL Server Network Configuration and select the protocols for the SQL server you wish to use.

Ensure that the TCP/IP and Named Pipes protocols have been enabled (right click > enable) 

 

Once you have enabled these two protocols restart the SQL server by going back into SQL Server Services selecting the SQL server you just made changes to, right clicking and selecting restart.

 

You SQL Server should now be configured.
